ANATOMY LAB, BIO 241.1, 2 CREDITS
Class meets four hours
a week. Lab meets a total of four hours per week.
Students should plan for 16 or more hours a week
for reading and studying outside class.

LECTURE ATTENDANCE:
Attendance
is necessary to succeed in this class. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WITHDRAW FROM THIS CLASS IF YOU DECIDE TO STOP
ATTENDING!!!! However, you may be administratively withdrawn after five hours
of absence from lecture. YOU CANNOT DEPEND ON BEING DROPPED WHEN YOU STOP ATTENDING.
If you
are going to miss class, please send me an email (sharris@columbiabasin.edu) to explain the reason you are going to be absent.
YOU MUST
BE PRESENT FOR AT LEAST 40 MINUTES OF LECTURE TO BE RECEIVE CREDIT FOR ATTENDANCE.
LAB ATTENDANCE:
There is no opportunity to make up missed labs or the points received for these labs. If you anticipate missing a
number of classes due to vacation, athletics, musical performances or other reasons, you may want to take this course during
a quarter that you do not have those activities. If you are going to be absent from lab, please send
me an email (sharris@columbiabasin.edu) to explain why you are going to be absent.
YOU MUST BE

AUDITS ARE
NOT ALLOWED IN SCIENCE CLASSES WITH LABS!!
EXAM POLICY
I WILL DROP YOUR LOWEST EXAM OR PRACTICAL SCORE FROM THOSE TESTS WORTH 100 POINTS. Students missing
more than one exam will receive a zero for each additional test they miss. Please do
not ask for an exception to this policy.
You must put a statement in your folder stating why you missed the exam or you will not be able to drop the exam.
MISSED QUIZZES AND ASSIGNMENTS
In class
assignments and quizzes may not be made up.
MISSED HANDOUTS
Missed handouts can be picked up during regularly scheduled office hours. Ask your classmates to collect them for
you if you are going to be absent.

YOUR PROGRESS IN THE CLASS
BE SURE TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SCORES ON EACH ASSIGNMENT, TEST, LAB ACTIVITY
EDUCATIONAL ACCESS STUDENTS
You must make
arrangements to take your exams during the same scheduled exam time as the rest of the class. If you miss this time, you
will not be allowed to make up the test later and it will be considered your dropped test.

If you need to converse others during class please do it in the
hallway. You may feel free to ask student who are disturbing your education process
to either be quiet or to leave the room.
Cell phones, pagers and other communication devices must either
set on vibrate or turned off during class.
If you have placed your phone or pager on vibrate and need to
return a call, please leave the class room before answering or making your call.
If you must arrive to class late, come in quietly and take your
place.
If you have questions that do not pertain to cell biology, please
ask them after class or during office hours.
I do not give extra credit for pointing out errors, so please
do not disrupt class asking for points. Unless the errors affect the accuracy
of the lecture, please let me know after class or during office hours.
Children are not allowed to be in classrooms or in the hallways.

EVALUATION
Your class grade will be based on the following possible
activities: lecture exams, assignments, quizzes, article summaries, or other activities.
Your lab grade will be based on the following possible activities:
lab exams, assignments, quizzes, practical exams, performance exams, article summaries or other activities. A
portion of your lab evaluation may be included in the lecture exams.
Your final percentage grade will be figured by dividing
the score you receive in both lab and lecture by the total points possible. I do not round up. You will receive the same grade for class and lab.
The final percentage grade that will be
converted to a G.P.A according to the following:
